Lady in the Death House (1944) DVD: Lady in the Death House 1944 DVD |
| Product Description : This DVD set has the lovely Jean Parker as the title character, an innocent girl on death row for a crime she didn?t commit. Experience this nail biting film noir drama, which has you guessing who the killer is right till the end. Jean Parker loved her work, and to this day, it still shows. The radiant young actress moved on to a film career lasting 35 years with over 80 films. Her roles spanned a broad range of feminine characters; from wide-eyed ing?nues, to tragic heroines, from gypsies to country girls, from wisecracking amateur detectives to hard-boiled tough girls. While never a big star in films, Parker did considerably better on stage, appearing in the west-coast productions of such hits as Dream Girl and Born Yesterday. During the early Thirties, Atwill became synonymous with horror films following his performance in Michael Curtiz's DR. X. Working steadily from his stage debut at age 20, most often in the plays of Ibsen and Shaw. Establishing himself in America, Atwill continued his stage work, supplementing his income with silent film appearances. Atwill loved Hollywood and the films and didn't care who knew it, not really concerned one way or the other whether he could be Broadway's number one star again or not. |
