Shunning Ray, a class trumpeter who adores her, Julie falls for the charms of the debonair Danny Burke, only to find that she was just one among Danny?s many girlfriends. With nobody to turn to, Julie?s emotions get the better of her. She does the only thing that can possibly prevent ?her? Danny from turning on his charms on some other unsuspecting girl - she shoots him dead. In between a rather predictable drama of love and heartbreaks, you have a few wonderful song and dance sequences backed by some great performances by Doris Merrick and Robert Lowery. Shot almost entirely indoors, Doris? portrayal of a girl caught between her adoration for Danny and the saner choice of giving in to the adoring Ray holds the movie together. Her innocent next-door-girl looks endear her to the audience instantaneously. Witness this heartbreaking tale of a young girl whose heart beats for one man while common sense dictates that she chose the other. |
