| Product Description : Hollywood?s fondness for casting Olympic champions in the role of Tarzan is evident once again in this 1938 version of the jungle kings adventures. Tall and lithe Glen Morris suits the role of Tarzan perfectly, and his athletic prowess is well utilized by director D. Ross Lenderman. Petite Eleanor Holm also fits the bill admirably. The locales, deep in the heart of Africa, provide a perfect backdrop for the plot, which though a little predictable, is absorbing nonetheless because of the amazing wares on display. Scenes of wild animals from leopards to hungry crocodiles and prowling lions are engrossing, as is the portrayal of a pleasure-loving sultan. A sprinkling of humor provided by a chattering chimp and sneezing Penny Reed binds the narrative well and the fast paced plot ensures that there isn?t a single dull moment. Although you do not see much of Tarzan in the first few minutes, Eleanor?s charm and magnetism more than make up for wait. Any film featuring Tarzan is expected to provide the audience with an hour of thrills and seat-gripping suspense and this movie lives up fully to that expectation.
