Go Get'em Haines (1936) DVD: Go Getem Haines 1936 DVD |
| Product Description : Sam Newfield, the director, ensures that the pace of the movie does not slacken at any point, making clever use of intrigue, well-placed humor and choice of locations. In a rare appearance without a horse under him, William "Hopalong Cassidy" Boyd plays a dogged reporter who stops at nothing to get his man. He is wonderfully supported by the leading lady Sheila Terry. An ocean liner casts off before Steve Haines (William Boyd) a reporter, realizes it. He has followed a business magnate onboard suspecting his involvement is a securities scam. The movie kick-starts with comedy but laughter gradually gives way to lip-biting suspense as the gripping plot unfolds. Clever dialogue and Jimmy Aubrey's wonderful portrayal of a perpetual drunk add flavor to the fast- paced story and welcome relief to viewers who are on the edge of their seats for most of the second half of the narrative. Shot largely "on location" aboard a liner, the movie is a must-see for all adventure lovers. |
