Training Californian Teenagers DVD: Training Californian Teenagers DVD |
| Product Description : This DVD provides a stimulating overview of the problems faced by youth in the 50s. Branded as rebellious and unmanageable delinquents, the youth were largely left to themselves resulting in their involvement in crime. The clips on this marvelous DVD highlight the difference a few people with vision can make to the lives of youth in their cities and towns. The clips demonstrate how simple programs such as car races and community help schemes turned rebellious liabilities to useful community assets. Sid Davis seems to be at his best while directing educational documentaries for youth, and the clip entitled Show Em the Road stands testimony to this fact. Davis builds up the excitement as only he can and then drives home the lessons on fuel economy and road safety throughout the narrative as only he can. The argument presented in the two clips Show ?Em the Road and Ask Me, Don?t Tell Me is that society is responsible for juvenile delinquency and that it is the responsibility of cities and towns to reinstate the confidence and trust that youth seem to lack. The stranger is another useful educational film, which warns youngsters about the dangers of associating with strangers. Produced at a time when the crime rate was on the up, the clip uses lively reenactments to drive home the point. |
